Every year, thousands of children and adults write letters to Santa during the holiday season. Many of these letters are requests for food, clothing and gifts from the very neediest families in our community. The Sacramento District Post Office collects these letters and makes them available to the public, church groups and other organizations to help these needy families during the holidays. The Sacramento PCC has participated in this program since 1992.
The Sacramento PCC selects 3 to 5 families to sponsor. After contacting families for detailed information, we provide the “wish” lists to the PCC members. Members can donate gifts specifically for a family or child, or donate money that the PCC uses for purchasing needed items. We provide basic clothing, toys for children, blankets, shoes, and food to these families. Gifts are wrapped and food purchased. Santa and his “elves” deliver the gifts. Santa also has small toys and stuffed animals in his sack for any neighborhood children that might be around during the delivery.
Due to high gas prices and unemployment, we expect this year to again be difficult for families. No PCC funds are used for this project. Individuals and companies donate specifically for the Santa Program. 100% of all money donated goes directly to the families, there are no administrative fees.

How can you help?
We need monetary and gift donations and we need PCC members and their families to volunteer their time to purchase, wrap, and deliver gifts. Donations can be made by check or credit card via PayPal. Please make checks payable to “Sacramento PCC – Santa” or simply use the secure PayPal Donations link below.
Your donations benefit our community and builds team spirit. We are helping families in our community who need it most. Typically, the gifts we provide are the only gifts those families will get at Christmas. Many times the food we provide is all they have. The shopping, wrapping and delivery is a wonderful mélange of activity and emotions that exemplify what is good about the holiday season. We hope you can find the time to help. If you have questions, or would like to volunteer, please call Candi Cheathon at (916) 276-9849.
